The obscene pricing sadly put paid to any slight interest I had.

This. A mate asked me if I wanted to go, but a £78 a pop I declined. I don't think there is an artist alive I would pay £78 to go and see. Especially at The Brighton Centre. :nono:

I saw him at the DVD premiere in London a few years ago and I'd love to see him again...but it's more than I'm willing to spend, even though it is nice and local.

Even better for him, he can walk to the gig.

I went on Saturday and it was a phenomenal gig.
The lighting was superb and the sound incredible for such a barn
Personally I didn't think that £60 (plus Ticketmaster's £6 fee on top) was too bad to see a guitarist who I rate as one of the very best - I know people on NSC disagreed but I was happy to pay that

Can confirm it was a great show, and probably the second best I have seen there after Bruce Springsteen on his River tour. The songs from the new album sounded good and some are far removed from the 'Pink Floyd' sound, such as Girl with a yellow dress which is a jazz number.

It was good to see someone of his stature at the Centre and relatively up close rather than relying on stage screens when stuck at the back of larger venues or festivals.

Out of interest, did you have to show any photo ID to get in?

Looks a great set list.

It was an incredible concert. It was certainly very expensive but given he hasn't toured since 2006 it was a price i felt was worth paying. The sound of the solo at the beginning of Sorrow literally vibrated through the whole crowd and was an experience i won't forget. They did carefully check the photo id before the gig and it meant a 30min wait to get in but personally i think it was a very good way to get rid of the touts. Didn't get offered a single ticket and plenty of the crowd had travelled from around Europe specially to see him.

I also have tickets to see Joe Bonamassa on 30th Oct at approx half the price but expect to be wowed again.

Very impressed with some of the talent the Brighton Centre attracts. I like the smaller feel. So much better than being stuck at the back of an 02 gig....

I don't much like his solo post Floyd stuff but that sounds like one hell of a set list. Loved to have seen it

I was there. His guitar work was phenomenal, but some of the material was nothing special. 'The girl in the yellow dress' was banal beyond belief. I felt really chuffed that I've seen pretty well all of the artists close up that I consider to be worth seeing, then realised that I've never seen Hank Marvin. How innovative was he? Incidentally, none of the concerts that I've ever seen were as good as the two that Springsteen played at The Centre in May 1981. Even Jackson Browne failed to emulate these.
