My train was supposed to leave LBR 6 minutes ago. We've still not moved.

To be fair, it's so hot out there, is not be that bothered about moving either.

My connection at EC is looking unlikely now.

I'm convinced train companies actually enjoy tormenting their captive customers for no other reason other than to remind you they OWN your sorry ass. First day back at work in the New Year after ticket price increases, first quite hot day of the Summer, first quite cold day of the winter etc etc. they just go AWOL. Just because they can. Always have done. Always will. How hard can it REALLY be to run a train along a straight track for sixty miles without any kind of drama? They've only had a hundred and fifty years to practice, might be reasonable to expect they'd got it right by now shirley?
