Totally inexcusable behaviour from Frank Rijkaard but I fking hated Rudi Voeller at the time for his constant diving, so I remember chuckling heartily as those 3 or 4 minutes played out.

One of those moments you feel guilty for laughing at.

Rijkaard was disgusting, of course, but Völler was a textbook German footballing pantomime villain, with his tight perm and his ridiculous moustache. Also a shocking dive-merchant. The look of astonishment on his little face as that bit of phlegm clung to one of his curls and hung there was undeniably hilarious.
