Locadia has needed a season to settle in and AJ will probably do the same - they've both come from the Eredivisie which is a level under the English game. Confident we'll see a different bolder player net season.

Love how quickly we judge a player that we've barely seen play. His start to life in England has been disrupted by injury and the Asian Cup and has never had a run in the team longer than 2(?) games... We're playing him cold and on the wrong side of the front three. I've seen enough to think there's something there, but nowhere near enough to judge his levels of success with us yet.
Spot on. I also thought he definitely has a touch of Beckham about his technique.
Very neat, very classy player. Yet to see how much impact he can make on Prem games on a regular basis, but I'm willing to give him a chance.

Looks a very elegant player to me but the step up has been a steep learning curve. I think he has enough about him to be a real asset in the coming seasons.

Judgements always immeadiately made .
In the case of poor players it follows the same trend
a) Some write off immediately after a handful of contributions..... gets mostly slated for it
b) Others start writing off after more evidence , those not writing off still very vocal
c) the majority write off after further damning evidence , those not writing off lessen in numbers but still very vocal
d) player becomes written off by all and is moved from the club at some point - everyone in agreement
I'd suggest AJ is just about moving onto (B)

Let's hope, because so far he really has looked so far off the pace (and physically not up to it). My biggest worry is that his game looks like it requires him to utilised in quite a free way so he can use clever movement to get into good positions. I do wonder whether CHs strict tactical approach for wide players and his lack of a number 10 recently will really impact on just how effective AJ will be for us, as he doesn't look great defensively, he doesn't look strong or quick enough at the moment to hold players off let alone beat them, and he's certainly not going to take us 50 yards up the pitch with the ball at his feet, which is often required of our wide men.
Obviously the scouting team think they've seen something, so we probably need to give the guy time. But he's certainly done nothing so far to justify that time or price tag.
