Yup. Played it often at Durrington First/Middle School in Worthing when I was little. I didn't realise it was exclusively a Sussex sport until I went to Uni, I thought every schoolchild played it.

We used to play it at our primary school, St Joseph's in Haywards Heath.

Girlfriends sister plays for Epsom team. Seems to be a female sport.

Does this mean that people don't play stoolball any more?

My 2 lads played it when they were at St Martins CofE in Brighton only a couple of years ago. I've also played it as an adult in Amberley about 15 years ago where there was even a proper marked out pitch, if I recall correctly and I seem to remember reading that Southwick was the 'home' of Stoolball where they have pitches too.

I saw a Stoolball tournament at The Salts Recreation ground in Seaford, either last summer or the year before.

Seaford if i remember right was the 'big' county tournament, played on a Sunday.

It was on a Sunday, there were lots of teams involved so you are probably right. I think we just called into the park for an ice cream after a walk, I was surprised to see a Stoolball tournament.
