So they played an ineligible player in 17 matches last season. The only fair punishment would be a 51 point deduction for this season.

Why not add in another point for every million of their FFP fine they choose not to pay ???

In all seriousness, I'll be interested to see how they punish QPR IF they do so.

A fair punishment should be every point awarded whilst Sandro was on the pitch last season should be deducted at the start of the next one.

Can't see it happening though.

Wouldn't the punishment have to come from the premier league and therefore be on hold until such a time that God forbid, they were promoted again?

Are work permit issues not more the domain of the FA and the Home Office? If so, I'd have thought the FA would be well within their rights to be able to dictate some form of punishment for QPR.

Not that they will, though. That club are making a mockery of so many rules at the moment.

51 point deduction, so straight down to League 1.
Just 2 x relegation slots to be filled then, that makes getting secure a bit easier.

If true and if it had been realised during the season presumably they would have been deduced the points gained when ever he played. Given that they finished bottom I don't suppose it makes any difference.

I suspect that the club will get a slap on the wrist and a fine.

Would imagine the Home Office will be asking questions and the Premier League should apply a suspended points deduction and/or fine. I am more than a little miffed at the inactivity of the FL over FFP but frankly unsurprised

£20k home office fine for employing an illegal immigrant will probably be all they get

I disagree. The FA and FL might make a mockery of the rules, by not implementing them. QPR are just a club trying to get away with it, it's up to the governing body to do what they said they'd do.

With FFP they should have a transfer ban so not be able to sign players full stop.
