Think most players whose contracts are about to end will see their current contracts expiring on 30 June.
As they will be paid to 30 June by their current clubs it is likely many players will play the market looking for the best deal before signing a contract with a new club from 1 July at the earliest.

It doesn't seem too unlikely that the Bogle for Walton + cash deal might happen.
