Don't understand some of Roy's selections TBH. Phil Jones at right-back when Clyne is available? Gibbs at left-back when Bertrand is available? Both part of the second best defence in the Premier League. That it took so long so long for Bertrand (PFA team of the year) to be called up as well is ridiculous, and initially that was only because of injuries.
Townsend has done OK for England in the past but I don't think he should be starting. He can't even start for Spurs. Wilshere always seems to get back in the starting 11 as soon as he recovers from his many injuries, irrespective of his form. Considering the (lack of) quality of our midfield, I think Milner (who I rate highly) should be one of the first names on the team sheet. But he's on the bench.
I think Austin's really unlucky not to start as well.
And I just realised that after Cleverley's terrible season (save a few games at the end) he's back in the squad. God help us.

I've never rated townsend, nor willshere, yet they always get picked when fit
Henderson is far better than both, covers an unbelievable amount of ground each game and does most of the dirty work for our midfield.
