Current first team squad

Early days I know but has anyone got a list of the current first team squad- ie Albion owned players with a contract for next season.

I'm not trying to incite bed-wetting, I'm just interested to know where we stand at present. Cheers.

All I know is that we have just two strikers - COG and Baldock. I lie awake at night worrying about this. 2/3 more strikers needed as a minimum......and soon.

From the information that has come out of the club all expected to start pre-season I believe although expectation and reality in these matters are often far apart. :shrug:

That looks like a potential relegation fighting squad if ever I have seen one. Defence looks dreadful.

A lot of work needs to be done on the squad this summer, for sure.

30 days until they jet out to the French mountain training camp.

Looking at that squad we need to do a lot of shopping! Somewhere in the region of 8 to 10 new players needed, and they need to include some real quality if we want to avoid another relegation battle.

1x Goalkeeper (if Walton is loaned out)
1x Left Back
2x Centre Backs
1x Winger
1x Creative Attacking Midfielder
2x Strikers

Some people might say we even need another winger on top of that, and a younger right back.

Yes I agree. I'd sell / loan out Holla, and use his place in the squad to bring in another winger.

I'm also sure a decent rightback is high on the U21 recruitment list.

He is, and l very much hope he is still part of our long term plans, as l'm convinced that he still has a part to play. Only ever used sparingly by Sami Hyypia, and very often played out of position. He came up with a few goals at pivotal times last season.

Played just behind the main striker the man has goals in him, l'm sure of it.

I suspect he might create plenty of them too from that position. He set up plenty of chances for Bent, when they played together.

Great goal at Bournemouth, the only time I can think we scored a goal like that all season and was a very good penalty taker, didn't feel the need to close my eyes like I did at Reading.

Counting Rea and Chicksen makes 20 players

Squad of 25. That means a minimum of four new players and might be six.

I totally agree. Thats not a good squad base but there will be more of them gone than you think and more replacements than you think
