Yep, totally agree, the Premier League splitting from the league was a disaster, and it was the FA that instigated it

The F.A. became an irrelevance the day they let the premier league breakaway. They are running scared from lawyers and roll over at the slightest hint of trouble, hence the pathetic fit and proper test, and the lack of belief they will do anything about Q.P.R. ffp fine.

I tbought the article was a load o bollocks. Yes, the FA have played a large part in making the game expensive, but a lot of that is down to greed by players and agents, the demands of fans to sign players X, Y and Z, and the willingness of football fans to subscribe to Sky sports.
You may not agree with what the FA has done, but at least they're fairly transparent and not breaking any laws. It's a bit much to compare that with the multi million pound corruption that has followed FIFA for years.

Greg Dyke back tracked from his first interview on the subject consistently over three days, eventually saying that Blatter would be out after one or two years. When confronted by the journo on Radio 4 claiming that the FA had evidence of the corrupt process's of FIFA he stepped back claiming that it was only here say and conjecture. How about our bid to host the world cup coming in at whopping £19m, where on earth did all that money go, expensive travel, luxury hotels, dinners, backhanders, appearance money. They're all on it the football gravy train, even the head turning sponsors, the lure of money sucking everyone in. The real victims are ourselves and most are willing participants!

Ah right, an article written by a liverpudlian who seems to begrudge Wembley. Firstly, how is Wembley a tacky stadium. Yes, the semi's are there but we all know that is to pay off the cost of building the thing. If they had built exactly the same thing in Stanley Park he wouldn't be complaining. Yes, it's our national stadium so of course it should be in the capital. Would you rather England did what they did during the build and play at different venues around the country. How would we feel if Brighton got to the cup final again in the year it is played at St James Park!! We are not a big country it is possible to travel anywhere reletively easy. You can drive the length of the country in less than a day. Can't do that it US or Russia.
As for the bidding process for 2018, yes the English FA played the game but weren't they far more transparent about it. Assuming there were bribes on the part of Putin that won Russia the bid then they having been declared! As for the TV money, that is going to the Premier League, a different organisation. And to whom does he think owners need to be accountable to? Fans would like to think it is them but in the end, it is the owners that put huge chunks of cash into clubs. It might not be ideal but it is the way of the world.

Nothing to do with Sky. The game was corrupt way before they came along, they have just marketed the whole thing more professionally increased the money and therefore the incentive to do corrupt things. Money has been syphoned out of the game since the year dot. The sums involved have just got bigger...
For example they created the TV deal for the PL sure, but the way the money is distributed is entirely down to the greed of the clubs especially what used to be called Big Five who instigated the whole thing back in the 80's...
