Imagine the binfest on here if we signed Joey Barton. People used to think of Barnes as marmite. Barton would take it to a whole new level.

Until 31st August this is going to be an every day thing. Soon as someone signs elsewhere we'll get it about another has been on 70k+ a week till the deadline.

PS I hope we can sing one of them for peanuts

Barton will get a prem offer for sure, and his salary demands will require it to be prem side.

Zamora too may find a side like Watford for example may be interested.

As much as I would love to see a farewell season for Zamora with us, its highly unlikely.

Barton could certainly do a job here. May be a cock but a good player at this level.

I'll leave it to you for the Zamora speculation....:jester:

I've always thought Barton was an idiot, but when he came to the Amex with QPR he reacted to the abuse he got with good humour. I warmed to him a little bit that evening.

As for Zamora, I cannot think of any reason why not. Hopefully because he has earnt around £8m - tax from QPR, his wage demands might not be unaffordable.

Joey Barton will off to another Prem side. He's only 32 and is a class act - a complete ****er but clearly a very capable footballer. Very much doubt he'd come to us!

Zamora can still perform at this level, and like Dunne, I think he has one more season left in him. I'd get them both in.

Barton would be a more worthwhile addition to our squad at this point than BZ although I wouldn't sign either. For all his past achievements Bobby is the wrong man at the wrong time...

We need up and coming young players with athleticism, we already have more than enough experience within the squad...

Fair point, but I'd say judging by last seasons effort, Zamora is easily better than our current striking options.

Bennett...now Zamora.

Why would anyone with a modicum of reason or intelligence blow a hunk of our playing budget on two injury ravaged, fading footballers who will no doubt spend more time on the physio table than the pitch?

Furthermore, during his recent loan spell, Bennett looked a pale imitation of the livewire who played for the Albion in League 1.

Many thanks for the great service they gave the Albion, but we don't owe either a season-long testimonial.

I have always hoped that Bobby would come back one day and think he can still do a job so why not.

£10,000 - £15,000 p/w and on the Physio's table for over half the season? No thanks.

Like Kemy, Crofts, Lua Lua, March, Orlandi, CMS etc you mean.... you always get players that are injured and some more than most.

Chances are... even if Zamora would play for 15k a week, he will probably get a better offer from elsewhere.

Bennett on the other hand I would be delighted to get. Still young enough, and how many players these days have not had 1 bad injury.... hes now fully fit.
I would be delighted to get Bennett back.

I would also be happy to get Bennett back.

All I'm saying is, it's almost a certainty that whoever signs Zamora next, will have to make extra space in the Physio's office in advance.
As much as I like the bloke, his legs aren't up to it.

In the last 3 seasons in the Prem and the Champ Zamora's scored 3, 4 and 4 league goals for QPR.

One of those goals being the one which got QPR promoted. Would also be interested to see how much game time he has had to get those goals.
