"Swiss police move to arrest officials from football world body Fifa over US corruption charges, New York Times says" - from the BBC.

Oh PLEASE let Blatter be one of them.

Why is it "US" corruption claims? Surely the whole fracking world can claim enough evidence for corruption within the FA.

What lovely news to wake up to!

Sadly, I can feasibly see Blatter turning this to his favour by claiming that it's proof of him weeding out corruption...

Hopefully the are Blatter supporters and are held until Saturday ruling them out of the vote. There would be a lovely sense of irony if Blatter then lost by 9 votes and went off crying foul play

The Septic's are the only ones with a ballsey legal system which gives them the God given right to demand the arrest of foreign nationals and the power to do it. It's a " US Corruption" in as such that Chuck Blazer, the ex US FIFA head spilled his not inconsiderable guts.

With any luck at all 'Septic Batter' will be involved. Surely one of the Bar Stewards will grass on him.

That was my hope also, just need a couple to turn states evidence in exchange for immunity and every football fans dream may become reality.

Really interesting article in guardian, blatters opponent in presidential race was offered incriminating ebidence on blatters finances.... It was handed to police :)

Even if Blatter isn't amongst those arrested today the net really is closing in now.

Wonder if the US can arrest him before his re-election.

Surely Blatter would be guilty by association (assuming this lot are guilty of course), as he is in charge. Even if they cannot pin anything on him, one would have thought that it makes his position untenable as this happened with him at the helm. But this is FIFA, so the laws of normal logic and decency do not apply, obviously.

If carlsberg did news stories....this would be it!
