Our esteemed Lord Gerry managed to mention Whitehawk whilst commentating on the Athletico Madrid vs Barcelona match last night. Something about late goals but an interesting if left field statement anyway.

He came to St. Nicolas Junior School to give a football lesson when I was 10. So... maybe?

Yep, I heard that comment. He was saying how all over Europe there were league title / relegation issues going down to the wire, then by way of example threw in Whitehawk getting pipped at the post. The brilliant thing was he didn't even mention the competition (Vanarama South Conference Paly-Off Final).

Gerry is one of the reason I enjoy watching the Spanish football.

Interesting fact!

Gerry Armstrong played for Newhaven Town Under 18's in 1990.

(That's me in the tie.... and Albion starlet Connor Tighe's dad front middle!)

Caretaker/ran the tuck shop for a while. Don't think he was ever a teacher...
