Same as on the other thread, but if we're just concentrating on the dead, I'd go for Buddy Holly and the The Crickets, and Lyrnyrd Skyrnrd.

......oh, and Eddie Cochrane.

......oh, and Eddie Cochrane.

I have been to the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake where he made his final performance on the midwinter tour before dying in the plane crash. It is EXACTLY as it was when he last played their. Quite surreal.

Also been to the Norman Petty recording studios where he cut most of his records. That too is exactly the same as it was when he was alive and they even play the songs back through the original equipment used, also quite spooky.

Always been a huge Small Faces fan, saw them once but I didn't realize their songs would stay with me this long.

Sadly my post on the other thread is starting to become more dead than alive. Hendrix Experience all 3 gone, Pink Floyd 3 of 5 gone, Cream 1 of 3 gone, Soft Machine several zillion members but quite a few gone!

Have I missed something? I can only think of two who have gone to the great gig in the sky

For me, it would be the Velvet Underground, John Coltrane, Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday
