Labour leadership race

This won't be resolved until September and it looks like all candidates will be lobbying for votes throughout the UK until then. I presume they are continuing to be paid as MP's so how can they possibly justify taking a salary when I suspect they won't have much time to represent their constituents during this period?

Certainly not as this applies to any party having a leadership election. I was watching the news where they said 2 more had entered the race which got me thinking that surely the parties should be funding this. They are paid to represent their constituents but surely that will be put on the back burner whilst they campaign.

Don't all the MPs go on holiday from June till September anyway ?

Just heard a good one, sorry if fixtures, Diane Abbott has thrown her hat into the ring. The woman who got 3 on Mastermind her specialist subject being Jamaica. She was also on University Challenge presumably as a mascot as she never managed to answer anything. Bring her on.

I hate that racist woman. She's a disgrace & I'm amazed she's allowed anywhere near front line politics

Most of the actual electioneering in a party leadership contest is done by Rupert Murdoch and his journalists.

Times candidate Chuka, Mail candidate Liz, Telegraph candidate Tristram and Sun candidate that squaddie no one has ever heard of

Maybe they'll campaign in their spare time?

Mayor of London candidate - but I guess that's close enough accuracy for you

About the only one who has ever done any useful service for the country, why am I not surprised a w ankstain like you refers to him in a disparaging way :tosser:

Out of these career politicians, which lucky winner is going to be the loser or which lucky loser is going to be the winner?

Chris Bryant please. He'd get no votes, but I think he's top value.
