Myself as a leftie, possibly a Blairite. Am congratulating the SNP on turning me into a Tory. The SNP wants away from the UK and to be quite honest I wish Scotland would leave anyway, what is the point of them being here?
Their oil is not worth what it once was and never will be again and their welfare costs more than it ever did. So why are we even bothering to hold on to that part of the country it is clearly different and clearly politically and mentally has no ties any more with the rest of the UK.

Exactly it's different from us. It's tediously monocultural and in the grip of a nationalist frenzy. Not the sort of modern nation we want to be associated with.

30% swing?? surely the Tories have no fairness to govern in Scotland and therefore what is the point of trying to keep the scots in the union? The SNP have successfully campaigned against labour and not given a crap what government we will end up with! SNP are just out for themselves and no one else. If you can't beat em join em. I'm now a Tory, get the scots out!

Especially a nation where the SNP have almost total control thanks to their stance against austerity cuts, desire not to replace Trident and spend that money on services.. Seems like Labour have been out-Laboured by the SNP, would go some way to explaining the huge swing to them. Looks like Scottish Labour MP's have gone the way of Scottish Tory MP's now.

Bad news for Mrs Salmond.

I can't imagine a nationalist fuelled by chips is much of a shagger. She probably gave up bunk ups years ago tired of waiting for him as he swirled an imaginary claymore round the bedroom blasting out run rig, as a pre sex warm up

Labour are ****ed, this is a really significant moment in the UK electorial history. It's never gonna be the same. I'm gutted. Stuck with the Tories forever. Unless I leave the country, which I must admit is rather attractive. I can't just blame the SNP, labour have been an utter shambles, allowing the bully boys to beat them in England and the Krankies in jockland.
I want the scots to Sod off now, I've had enough of their crap. We need to start a new revolution in England, not Tory, not labour but the free beer party carrying on the good work of Bob Dobbs over the years!

Sounds pretty good to me but sadly we are stuck with our Establishment forever. Too entrenched, too much vested interest to wish any change. Maintain the divide and protect those at the top. Its an unequal struggle. Millions of us swilling around in middle England, knowing what needs doing but completely powerless. We are the subservient cash cow, working hard and pouring billions into the public coffers for little or no return.
We watch our wealth being wasted by public servants with no accountability and find our country being controlled by faceless and corrupt bureaucrats in Brussels.
We are a self-centred society now, disinterested in the larger picture. The future for our children and grand-children is secondary to personal, short-term gain. We are letting our siblings down with this appalling short-sightedness but nobody seems to care.

Surely we are not letting our children and grandchildren down but paying the debt off now? Funny how people see things differently, and fortunately people have voted for this.

A left wing view so dated and obsolete. The world has changed, socialism is all but dead, Miliband has helped prove this all by himself. Underpin everything with a vibrant and robust economy, play to your strengths, and the wishes of the people will be realised.

Move on mate......the country has spoken.

I think you're almost certain to get your way now, with the results they got, they have a very clear mandate for another referendum which they will surely win when faced with another stretch of the nasties....

This is exactly the result the snp wanted. Now they'll be able to get devo max or even a referendum. Cameron doesn't need them. In fact without scottish votes he'll find governing much easier.

Not within 20 years, their economic case is already blown anyway, the current price of oil proves that.
