I'm trying to work out if this is a serious call for help, of if the OP's wife has just thrown out his lucky pants that were worn in seasons 2000-2002.

And as a serious aside... if anyone knows a good divorce solicitor in the Brighton area who specialises in acting for the father/husband, I'd love to have their details. Finally time to consign the long since "estranged" wife to full "ex" status.

I've no idea; we got divorced 9 years ago. Subsequent experience has however given me a fairly good idea as to why she grew to hate me. Although she continues to stalk me on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to this day.
I went to a solicitor who mostly acted for women divorcing rich husbands - I guess that's where the money is. He was however delighted to act for me to stop me getting shafted (in the same way that he shafted others) and didn't really charge me much at all.
I'd really recommend divorce to draw a line under your marriage. I've achieved so much, both in personal and work life, in the last 8-9 years. The toxic relationship/marriage definitely held me back for 8 years.

I've never seen this discussed on here before (I would have noticed...!).
I don't know anyone who is divorced and wishes they were still married to the person they divorced. Mostly men I am talking about but not all. Without exception they have "moved on" and their new life seems to be at least as good and usually better than what they had before in their marriage.

Presumably to get divorced you have to see any alternative to staying married as better, or they may be putting a smile on but actually be upset.
Not many men seem to be that open when talking about true feelings.
