Now, I know this isn't our fight but Mortensen wasn't just a Blackpool legend, he was a great England footballer and whichever way you look at it, this is completely disrespectful, unnecessary and extremely provocative. Mortensen once auctioned his winners medals to help out Blackpool. He was player, manager and vice-president with over 50 years service to the club. He's even buried nearby and those Oystons have taken down his statue. That's low, I mean really low.

Very sad. Although named the 'Matthews Final', our Stan bagged a rare Cup Final hat-trick. Pathetic gesture by those concerned.

Blackpool fc need a fans united. Disgusting owner.

At least It puts things into perspective when we're challenging the ownership of our own club.

This man's sole intention seems to be run down Blackpool and try and take every penny possible. But taking down a statue of a club legend is disgraceful, not only that, the supporters club on the Blackpool forum have been told they could be sued for trespass if they try and lay memorabilia next to it in protest. http://www.facebook.com/tangerineknightssupport/posts/1585394161742588

Yes, just been reading about that via the Tangerine Knights on Facebook. Disgraceful. I believe the area around the statue is a remembrance area for past supporters.
