Ben Smith has been the Albion's U-18 coach since Simon Rusk moved up to take on the U-21s in early February. He only joined the Albion in November, switching from Charlton's academy. He is a former player with Crawley and a bunch of other lower league/non-league teams, having come up as an apprentice at Arsenal.

Today he has a book published - "Journeyman: One man’s odyssey through the lower leagues of English football". It sounds very Garry Nelson-esque (there was an extract published in the Argus last Thursday about Steve Evans).

I have no idea how good or interesting the book is, but merely highlight it because of the Albion connection.

There is a review here:- The Journeyman Footballer – 28/4/15

Thanks for posting.

Suggests a man of some substance and perhaps well suited to his role of U18 coach.
