We all know that football was only invented in 1992 when the Premier League came about.

Should Bournemouth achieve promotion, they will become the 47th team to feature in the World's Greatest League (tm), meaning that more than half of the 92 clubs currently in the top four tiers of English football will have had a go in Sky's money-soaked playground. Those 46 are:

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Barnsley
Birmingham, Blackburn, Blackpool
Bolton, Bradford, Burnley
Cardiff, Charlton, Chelsea
Coventry, Crystal Palace, Derby
Everton, Fulham, Hull
Ipswich, Leeds, Leicester
Liverpool, Manchester City, Man Utd
Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Norwich
Nottingham Forest, Oldham, Portsmouth
QPR, Reading, Sheffield United
Sheff Wednesday, Southampton, Stoke
Sunderland, Swansea, Swindon
Spurs, Watford, West Brom
West Ham, Wigan Wimbledon
Wolves

Which is the biggest team to not have made it to the Premier League to date?

Huddersfield

Three times league champions, three times runners-up, FA Cup winner

Have been in top two division for most of their history

I know Preston has a better record, but that's way back - and have spent most of their recent history at the lower ends of the league

No brainer for me

not historically speaking, let's face it Bury have won the FA Cup twice, but probably never will again

I'd go for Brighton & Bristol City

with Plymouth not far behind in terms of future potential

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We won the league three times in a row
We won the FA cup
And now we're going up
We are the town
Oh yes we are the town.
La la la la la laaaaaaaa

Huddersfield town. No contest

Brighton? We have been in the first division 3/4 seasons and one FA cup final( and a replay)

Hardly a big club surely.

we're not,I'm referring to the poll in question

you could argue that currently all the clubs on that list aren't big and some never will be

Bristol City - biggest place never to have a top flight club, no?

We've spent most of existence in the bottom two divisions so anybody saying us needs their head examined
