Campsite Advice East Sussex / Kent

Having recently purchased a campervan, we're looking to go away over the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend. We're dropping our dogs off with a dog sitter near Lewes, so rather than drive too far West again, can anyone recommend a good family campsite in East Sussex or just into Kent?

We have two kids, aged 9 and 13, if that helps.

Best holiday we've had in many years was in Dorset last summer, but for a two night stay we'd like to go a little more local. Plus, as I said we're going via Lewes, so going back West would be a pain.

It might do, but knowing them as I do, I think you'll be out of luck. Try striking a more traditional cash deal.

If there truly is nothing to see East of Brighton, then I'll happily amend our plans and spend a bit longer to get to the New Forest.

Not been for 15years (ish) but as a kid used to love Heaven Farm.

http://www.parkfarmcamping.co.uk/ Me and the family have a season pitch here , very relaxed , Bodiam castle a 25 minute riverside walk away . Can highly recommend .

Or you could try http://www.wowo.co.uk/ We used to visit here often before getting the caravan , lovely place.

Both sites will sell you logs fro an open camp fire , which adds to the camping experience.

I've just had a look at the Park Farm price list, and they only give you £4 for a child, or a fiver on Bank Holidays. You should be able to raise more than that shirley.

I can recommend the one in bodiam its good there and you can have a fire.

Join the Caravan Club -about £40.00 per annum and this gives you access to all their very well-appointed sites. HQ is in East Grinstead, but all can be done online. Then look at Fairlight Wood, near Hastings or Battle -both lovely sites. IF you have a dog, or like walking, then Fairlight is ideal, as it has miles of woodland nearby, plus within 2 minutes walk, one of the best pub/restaurants. Best to check availability, as you will have left it rather late.By chance we are at Daleacres this coming weekend, near Hythe.

Look up "Chestnut Meadow" - near Bexhill.

Great site. Open space for football. Tarmac oval road for bikes/scooters. Indoor games room (pool, air hockey, full size snooker, shuffleboard, table football. ping pong). Excellent facilities generally + an unusually good café/bar on site - but all still small and friendly.

A few we've been to, or friends have been to and said were good. Been to Wowo a few times, and it is great for the kids. You won't see your two for most of the weekend :thumbsup:

There's a few nice sites on Romney Marsh which is a great area for kids to explore. Lots of child-friendly country pubs too.
