If you are and you like a little adventure, then the opening of el Caminito del Rey is a must! In it's old pre-reformed era it was viewed many times on Youtube, and scary it was! Now after a 4 million euro rebuild it is open again to the public. However you cannot just turn up and expect to walk, you must book on line here http://www.caminitodelrey.info/en/#3 and there are some places available for July - September now.

We [Mrs BS & brother over from Brighton] did the walk last Friday, and although having lived close by to El Chorro and birded the area for a few years, found the experience even better than anticipated.

You walk one way only [it's 7.7km], either El Chorro - Ardales or reverse. There is a bus service to take you back to your start point. Compulsory hard hats are supplied and unbelievably the walk is FREE this year! No wonder both TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet both rate it in the top 15 things to do in the world this year.

So if you are this way and want to experience this amazing walkway don't leave it too late or expect a tour operator to offer it, you must personally book on line [and have your passport number to hand].

Another little tip, if coming from the coast try and arrange travel by train [Malaga - El Chorro] to further the adventure.
