Cold calls from polictical parties?

Not sure how they got my (X/D) number, as I have never given it to any party..

What they talked about makes me think details were obtained from my voter registration form, which I thought was meant to be confidential..?

I believe that now when you sign up to vote - you have to opt out of the second box - which is the 'Open Register' and can be purchased by any political party.

If you didn't opt out that might be why.

Does your voter registration even have your phone number on it?

I opted out of pubic register, registered for 'no calls' with the TPS, and very careful who i give my mobile number too- let alone home phone..
