With the weather being bright and sunny over the past few weeks, I've seen plenty of motorbikes on the road with the riders sporting big grins meaning only one thing; we're well on the way to Summer.

What are y'all riding this year?

SV650, just had BT030s fitted front and rear, and it's a completely different bike. Previously had the stock hard as nails original tyres so getting used to not sliding around on Teflon is taking some doing. I shall take in a lot of country twisties this summer.

Just like to shine a spotlight on my new bike. After 41 years of riding all manner of machines, cruisers, sports bikes, roadsters, trailees and adventure bikes I can honestly say that for the money you couldn't do better than a KTM Duke 390. It cost me brand new £3699 and it's a little cracker. I can't remember having so much fun on a bike since behaving badly on an 'Elsie' in my teens. Having gone from a Range Rover (BMW R1100GS) to a Lotus Elan (the KTM) I took a big gamble but I regret it not one jot. It weighs virtually nothing and (for it's size) goes like stink. Usd forks, ABS, Metzellers, WP shocks and drop dead gorgeous looks all for the price of a scooter.

Snap.

2014 Plate Duke 390 right here.

Coming from an MT07 and Ducati Hypermotard, this feels lovely.

Have you put any mods on her yet? I've just got the comfort powerparts seats.

For yet another year the CBR600F2 will whip along the A272 to Winchester and back (one of the finest roads in the south) whenever I am in need of a bit of relief from Report Writing etc.

EDIT when I say 'whip' I mean stick to all Speed Limits at all times of course.

Being lucky enough (or mad) I have 4 bikes to choose from so hopefully get some miles in on all of them around Sussex
KZ1000P - Ex CHiPs bike (often to be seen at the Amex) and an immigrant from a USA coast to coast trip in 2013 :)
Ducati SSD Darmah 900
Ducati SD Darmah 900
Ducati ST4
Seeing them wirtten down I'm probably mad.

For another year got my trusted GSX1400
Tried many different bikes over the years but just like the very torquey naked muscle bike.

Still got my YZF1000R Thunderace, but looking longingly at a Triumph Tiger 1050 or Aprilla Tuono..

My Dad's got a Tiger 1050, he absolutely loves it. He's planning on riding to Denmark on it this summer, the lucky old scrote is in Aragon at the moment on a 3 day track session on his Mille :(

No mods yet, she just looks so lovely as she is. When the cold weather comes back I'm going to have some heated grips and the aluminium hand guards fitted. I'm toying with the idea of a tail tidy but I tkae a pilion sometimes so it's not really practical. What are the seats like?

Seems to get dirtier in summer than it does in winter on the roads. Some of the bugs are like bullets when you hit them. I could not use an open face helmet. End up looking like Dean Gaffney.

Since my last post, she's had a tail tidy, orange levers, de-stickered, K&N air filter and GPR exhaust which makes her sounds just damn angry all the time. I LOVE IT!
The seats are decent, I've not got a sore arse yet and I think they look pretty nice.

Excuse the bird droppings, she's filthy and needs a good clean soon.

As a matter of interest how did you find the MT07? I'm thinking of getting one, it's had amazing reviews and I was surprised you prefer the KTM?
