New thread topic.
Peter Ward leaves his apprenticeship at Rolls Royce to embark on a mission to play for Brighton & Hove Albion and take them to the first division. **** Emirates engines.

I'm surprised that the huge contract won't actually create any more jobs at Rolls Royce

Last year Emirates cancelled an order for 70 aircraft with RR engines (twin engine A350s vs 4 engines for the A380).

Swings and roundabouts?

Well, my capitalist friend, the markets are frit with worry that Greece will default on its next payment to its creditors and increase the likelihood of Greece exiting the EZ and therefore the biggest contract in Rolls Royce's history is a mere footnote to the wider catastrophe unfolding in that overwhelming success story that is the EU.

More time checking out what's happening in the real world and less time out shooting grouse and you won't need to ask questions on a football forum about the performance of your investment portfolio.

I see myself more as a champagne Socialist and have nothing to grouse about with a 6-7% return on RR since my 2 month oversea sojourn at Xmas.

Your honesty does you credit........I am pleased for your good fortune and respect your incisive mercantile acumen.

I have no doubt you have "socialised" your gain............

For future accuracy, there should always be a hyphen between "Rolls" and "Royce", as in "Rolls-Royce" - as they went to great lengths to tell me when I was working with them a few years ago.

They get very protective about how their brand is portrayed - and rightly so.

Great news on a great deal for a great brand!
