FA cup take a back seat please

Both FA cup semi finals this weekend to be played at the same time as live Premier league games on Sky. Think it's shambles and those behind the scheduling have got a lot to answer for. The FA cup struggles enough without this p*ss poor scheduling belittling it further.

Biggest joke of it all, if..... IF Reading somehow make the final they have to wait another 3 weeks from the end of the Championship season before they can play the final?

I think it's more about the fact that the FA has lost all control of the sport. Sky, the top 4 or 5 clubs, the sponsors, Nike, even the FL, all have more influence over the way the sport is run than its governing body has. Absolute shambles?

Surely that's more to do with the play-offs than anything else isn't it?

Not really. Why wait until the 24th to play the final? In 2012 the final was played on 5th May, the following year it was the 11th. Steve Clark has squad uninvolved in the play offs. Reading qualify for the final and he has problems with no competitive game for 3 weeks

Just wait to the W/C in the desert for an absolute total disaster with the fixtures across Europe when they try to close down for 3-6 weeks in the middle of the season, could we be looking at 2 summers of football as the fixtures are re-arranged ?

Ultimately, Sky and the PL don't give tiniest of tosses about the FA Cup and the FA hasn't got the muscle to do much more about it.

The only way that the scheduling might end up being slightly more favourable towards the cup is if Sky got the rights to show it, though knowing them it'd just end up being mid-week semi-finals.
