A couple of comments at the weekend
Vincent Kompany blasts the system because Man City were fined £50 million but are not in debt whilst Man Utd spent £150 million but are £400 million in debt. May be he has a case. Some one on 5Live backed him up talking about how the Man City board have built up a great training ground etc.
Meanwhile QPR manager Chris Ramsey, in a throw away line, talked of relegation and said 'whatever league we get sent down to'.

The main difference is that, even after paying Wayne Rooney et al several million in wages, Man Utd FC make good profits each year; Man City FC make huge losses.

I stand to be corrected, but the Glazer family's company that owns Man Utd are in debt (to pay off the loan that they took out to buy Man Utd in the first place) and not the actual club, if that makes sense.

It is the club that are in debt due to the way that private equity works. They buy the club then instruct it to take out loans to pay them off. So they officially ARE in debt.
