With the Albion safe (I think) it's time to turn attention to the NHL and after 82 tough games this is how the season finished. Two big names missing out were Toronto Maple leafs and the LA Kings but both New York teams made it. Any thoughts Lyndhurst?

Looks like the Rangers are on a roll. Already clinched the President's Trophy and earnt home advantage. Also won 6 of the last 7 games so I'm confident we have a good chance of going all the way. Vigneault has really turned this team round. Lundqvist has had a great season despite some downtime with a neck injury and Nash's form has been consistent - bring on the Penguins!

Good start for the Islanders : 4 - 1 against the Capitals. Nice to have two New York teams in the contest, Rangers against the Penguins tomorrow

Badly timed return to the UK means I will miss the first round. Went to around 30 Rangers games this season and they were excellent most of the time. They did show an alarming tendency to doze off on occasions though. ( they were dreadful in the 1-0 loss against the Blackhawks) so I'm not 100% confident. Nash is a streaky player and if he gets on a roll I think they'll do it. Biggest threat for me is Canucks. The Ducks were terrible when they played the Rangers at MSG so I'm ruling them out.

Rangers, with home advantage, take the first game of their playoffs against the Penguins 2-1.

Walking past MSG earlier today saw the Rangers faithful before the game.

Nothing beats The Garden on the evening of a play off game. I'm very jealous!!! Saw the Mets beat the Phillies on the box the other night, about time they had a good season.

But at the Mo its all ' LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!'

After the Albion shambles at Wigan another bad result with Rangers losing 4-3 in the second game of the playoffs against the Penguins. Oh well, on to tomorrow's game. Can see this going the full 7 games

I missed the start of this thread - Jets fan here (my grandfather was from Winnipeg and a player himself - even playing for a little side in Brighton called the Tigers in the 50s but that's another story).

I was just thrilled to see the Jets make the post-season for the first time since they returned to the city - thanks largely to an excellent final 8 games, including three shutouts in a row. However they've done really well in the first two games away in Anaheim (the Ducks becoming the first team ever to be losing going in to the third periods of their first to games to win both) and I'm hopeful that an amazing atmosphere and a White-Out on Monday night in the first home game for the Jets will get them back into the series.

Not sure who might win the Stanley Cup ultimately...
