Kayley Lane gave the visitors a surprise half-time lead, before Lucy Somes, Sophie Perry, Deanna Cooper and Vicky Ashton-Jones replied in a second-half onslaught, to give Albion all three points and maintain a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League Southern Division table.
The Seagulls started the match on the front foot, as Charlotte Gurr saw her effort cleared off the line and then fired another attempt narrowly over the crossbar.
James Marrs's side continued to pile on the pressure when Charlotte Owen came close to breaking the deadlock from distance, before Somes failed to make a decent connection with Fliss Gibbon’s cross into the box.
The Pilgrims had limited opportunities in the first half, but took a shock lead in the 32nd minute, when Lane appeared to prod the ball over the line from a corner.
Albion had chances to bring parity to the scoreline before the interval, as Kirsty Barton's strike went just past the post and Somes almost slotted the ball into an empty net only for Michaela Phillips to recover and collect the ball.

The Seagulls continued to dominate proceedings after the break, but were dealt a blow when Owen was forced off injured following a collision inside the box and had to be replaced by Ashton-Jones.Gibbons was a constant threat down the left-hand side and threaded in Somes, only for Phillips to react quickly to deny the forward.
Jay Blackie then drilled in a superb ball to the far post, but Perry was stretching to meet the delivery and shot wide from inside the six-yard box.
Albion deservedly brought themselves back onto level terms in the 61st minute, as Lucy Somes slotted the ball past Phillips from inside the area.
Gibbons and Perry then combined to almost net a second goal for Albion, as the Republic of Ireland struck the underside of the box from the full-back’s cross.
Perry netted Albion's second with 19 minutes remaining, after her in-swinging free-kick eluded the entire Argyle defence and sailed past Phillips into the bottom corner.
The Seagulls then gave themselves a two-goal cushion in the 83rd minute. It was a similar goal to the second, as Deanna Cooper's free-kick from distance rose over Phillips to make it 3-1.
There was still time to add extra gloss to the scoreline, as Perry drilled a ball across the box and substitute Vicky Ashton-Jones prodded home from point-blank range to give Albion a convincing win.
