Probably when Garcia quit after losing at Derby, for whatever was the reason. However, it can be turned around just as easily and the experiences of other teams show that the slide could be so much worse: Wigan are almost certain to be relegated less than 2 years after being in the PL and winning the FA Cup. And Fulham, who were a PL team for 13 years until last May, are below us in the table and couldn't even beat Wigan (or us) at home.

At least they did have some fantastic years in the top tier, we fell short and have gradually imploded since and it's gathering pace.

Yep, we were fortunate last year that all the other teams going for 6th choked more badly than us, but in our hearts, we knew the quality wasn't a patch on the previous season, this year, the squad has taken a giant step back quality wise. Appointing in Hyppia with hindsight was a disaster. Sherwood anyone ? Was ridiculed by plenty on here, doing a cracking job with Villa, who like us, couldn't score in a brothel

Indeed, for some reason Sherwood was ridiculed here but we went for a safe pair of hands, someone who was sacked for not being able to arrest a slide in form at Norwich but who we expected to turn around our own slide in form.

Yep, although ironically Hughton did arrest the slide in form, it is the task to get us challenging for promotion and playing some decent attacking football that might prove beyond him. I will reserve judgement, and see what the summer brings, and how we hit the ground next season. Last few game have been poor, but, I did go to the ipswich match, and a better display of attacking football, I haven't seem at the Amex since Paddys day V Palace 2 years ago, so i haven't written Hughton off yet !!

Football in general has changed not just Brighton.
To be in any way competitive, got to have a sound financial structure these days.
Barber is doing an excellent job IMO. If only the other staff matched his performance....

Sacking Poyet obviously. He'd just build a team that had the best second half of the season in the entire division. A fantastic opportunity for the following season squandered.
