Noise/Sound in Brighton

Just listened to a prog on R4 discussing cutting down traffic and club/pub noise in Brighton. With the planned new developments across the city a group has been carrying out tests such as adding peaceful ambient sounds along West St and "acoustic seating" by the greens at St Peters Church and the Old Steine.

Personally I like the hustle and bustle of the city although some of the greens do sound like your sitting on a roundabout . I think there are already plenty of peaceful spots in and around the city and the noise in the city centre is just part of living in a small city. Does Brighton need a more peaceful soundscape?

I recently lived near the Green Door Store but have now moved away - sleeping on Tuesday night was basically impossible due to people going and coming from Donuts club night, now I live overlooking a park and get woken up by dogs at 07.00 am on a Saturday morning, can't win!

If you live in a town centre, you're going to have to deal with noise.
