Albion manager Chris Hughton has promised a response from his players to their second Easter setback against Championship leaders Bournemouth at the Amex on Friday night.
He has backed them to raise their game following Monday’s 1-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Rotherham.
The Seagulls have gone two games without a point and six hours and 20 minutes without a goal from one of their own players after also losing 1-0 over the holiday period at home to Bournemouth’s promotion rivals Norwich.
They face a tall order against the Cherries, back on top of the table after coming from 2-0 down to beat Birmingham 4-2 at home on Monday.
Hughton has assured fans of a response to their defeat in South Yorkshire, launched by a lacklustre first half.
He told The Argus: “The one thing I’ve got is a good group of lads that want to work hard and they know in no uncertain terms that we weren’t good enough.
“We were poor in possession and our choices of ball were poor. There was no lack of desire.
“They will want to be better for the next game, that I can guarantee.”

Captain Gordon Greer is suspended until Tuesday’s visit of Huddersfield, so Lewis Dunk and Greg Halford will combine again in the centre of defence. Bruno or Inigo Calderon, if he is recalled to the starting line-up, will deputise as skipper.
Bournemouth’s bid for a third clean sheet in six will be based around former Seagulls Tommy Elphick and Steve Cook, whose goal sparked the Birmingham comeback.
