A Steven Fletcher hat-trick secured the Tartan Army’s biggest victory since defeating the Faroe Islands 6-0 in 2006, as they continue to fight for their first summer tournament since 1998.
Greer also featured as Gordon Strachan’s side earned a 1-0 friendly victory over Northern Ireland, sealing a clean sheet in the process, while fellow centre-half Aaron Hughes was selected in Michael O’Neill’s starting line-up to face his Albion team mate.
However, the veteran Northern Irish defender was an unused substitute when Northern Ireland prevailed in a 3-1 win over Finland in the Euro 2016 qualifiers. Hughes remains level with David Healy on 95 caps as he looks to break the record as most-capped outfield player for Northern Ireland.
After a year’s absence from the national team, Beram Kayal earned a call-up from Israel boss Eli Guttman after his fine form for Albion this season. The 26-year-old watched from the bench as Israel slumped to a disappointing 3-0 loss to Wales. Kayal will be hoping to play a bigger role when they host third-placed Belgium this evening.
Christian Walton’s return to his home club Plymouth Argyle for England under-20s was dampened as he watched from the sidelines during a 2-1 win against USA, but four days before, the young Albion keeper featured as England beat Mexico 4-2 on penalties after the two sides could not be separated during a 1-1 draw.

Albion under-21 shot-stopper Harry Doherty was an unused substitute for two consecutive games as Republic of Ireland under-19s fell to back-to-back defeats against the Czech Republic and Germany, ending their hopes of making the summer finals in Greece. Dessie Hutchinson was also in the squad, but did not feature in either game.
Latvian international Vitalijs Maksimenko featured for the full 90 minutes to help his country secure a 1-1 draw with a Czech Republic team that boasted a wealth of experience, including Petr Cech and Tomas Rosicky.
