I think that the rendition of O Mio Bambino Cara by Lucy tonight was as good as I have heard, this being my mothers favourite operatic piece.

Missed the first one, the rest have been very ordinary. I think Stevie the fireman. will win. I have no idea why I am still watching. The judges and the compère are sick makingly sycophantic to the singers.

Semi final tonight, Final next week. Nobody ever hears as much from the winner as they do BGT and X Factor.

I recall an episode of Have I Got News for You when the host, referring to a witness who had entered the life-long anonymity programme, said " or as it is now known - winner of The Voice."

Stunning programme, it goes from strength to strength as the contestants give their all to progress to the next round. Fantastic squaling from the audience and informative back stories. It's everything good telly should be... it's even better with the sound turned down
