Mr Benn narrator Ray Brooks will bring his one-man show to Brighton Little Theatre on April 12. Ray's CV also includes Eastenders, Big Deal, Coronation Street, Carry on Abroad, The Knack and How to Get It and Cathy Come Home which was voted the best single television drama by Radio Times readers in 1998.

Use to love Big Deal. His character was a Fulham fan.

Me too - especially the music which I still remember the tune and words to and just viewed for first time in thirty years!

Didn't realise it was bucks fizz Bobby though - explains why so good, seeing them in a couple months! Quality!!

Ray had a season ticket at Withdean and used to sit behind me. Top fella, and a very friendly chap, not seen him since we left there, I assume that he has a seat at The Amex, but I know he also had one at Fulham when we were at Withdean.

I could never work out how he managed to fool Jean Hopkirk into believing he was Marty Hopkirk.
