Similar to the technology in Apple Maps, but way more coverage, hit the little button in the bottom right corner to tilt the map and voilla!



It's not perfect but it's an amazing way to view the city nonetheless.

Do you need to use a specific browser? Am in google maps and cannot see a tilt button?

Is that available via ios or just android? Cant see the option on latest patch for ios Google maps...

Way before Google Streetview, I used to use Bing 'Birds Eye View' to price up jobs on properties, as it gave you an angled downward view from four different directions of the compass. I always thought that this was an ideal tool for burglars to use as it showed not only the contents of back gardens, but also the nature of the boundary fences and walls, etc - too much information !

I get it in Firefox but not in Safari

Oh, hadn't realised different versions of Google existed through different browsers; the icon is there in Chrome & Pale Moon (Firefox).

Ah I can see I need to select the one of the photo sphere options that display along the bottom, then the icon comes up.
