Travel Alert: Germany – Strike action at Hannover and Dusseldorf airports
Ground crew at Dusseldorf International and Hannover International airport have started strike action. There is potential for disruption at check-in desks and baggage handling. The industrial action is scheduled to end at 2.30pm local time.

We will continue to monitor the situation and issue further updates as necessary. Travellers are advised to monitor local media for updates and advisories.

That was a well weird one.If memory serves, it was put out in the media at the time that Spanish air controllers average earnings was about quarter of a million Euros a year (about a fiver at today's rates) and the strike was resolved by soldiers storming the control towers, putting guns to the controllers heads and telling them they were going to jail. Shouldn't happen in Germany.

Lufthansa had industrial action going on for some time but that doesn't get reported over here. Has that been resolved yet or is it still rumbling on? My colleagues switched to BA as they had enough of being left in Frankfurt on a regular basis.
