Joe Bennett has targeted Reading for another turning point in Albion’s season.
The defender wants tonight’s hosts to be the victims of an improvement in the Seagulls’ away results.
Albion launched their Championship recovery against Reading at the Amex on Boxing Day, coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in coach Nathan Jones’ first match as caretaker after Sami Hyypia quit.
They were next-to-bottom then but head for the Madejski Stadium nine points clear of the drop zone following a sustained revival under Chris Hughton.
Now Bennett has his sights set on a first away win since Hughton’s first league game in charge at Charlton exactly two months ago to lift Albion even further away from trouble.
The left-back on loan from Aston Villa for the season told The Argus: “Nathan did a massive job for us when Hyypia left. He really got the ball rolling.

“We got a draw and a win and Chris has come in and I think we have been in good form, especially at home.“We have just got to carry that into away games now and start picking up some points.”
Bennett will have a different player to link up with down the left with Sam Baldock ruled out for the rest of the season by a knee ligament injury sustained in last week’s 2-0 home win against Derby.
Kazenga LuaLua, Baldock’s goalscoring replacement, is in contention for his first start since the end of November.
