Albion are keen to give Chris Eubank Junior a chance to fight at the Amex.
The Seagulls are staging World Cup rugby this year and would like to add boxing to the stadium’s sporting portfolio.
Brighton-born Eubank Jr is an obvious candidate after winning the WBA interim middleweight title with a 12th round stoppage of Russian Dmitry Chudinov in London last weekend in his quest to become a fully fledged world champion like his father.
Paul Barber, Albion’s chief executive, said: “We would love to look at that. We feel we have got a venue here that isn’t just world class for football, it’s world class for many things.
“We’ve got a great transport plan, fantastic relationships with both local authorities, the universities, and we also think we have got a lot to offer in terms of event organisation and marketing, so we are getting increasing numbers of enquiries from different sports, different event owners, who are looking at the Amex as being a potentially good South Coast venue.

“We’re close to London, we’ve got good transport links, we’ve got a fantastic local community that support big events, so all things are possible going forward.”Eubank Senior fought twice in English football stadiums during his star-studded career.
His ill-fated victory over the brain-damaged Michael Watson for the vacant WBO super-middleweight crown in September 1991 was staged at White Hart Lane, Tottenham.
He held on to the belt with a draw against Nigel Benn at Manchester United’s Old Trafford in October 1993.
Nets will be replaced by rugby union posts at the Amex on March 20 when Albion host an under-20s Six Nations clash between England and France as a prelude to fixtures involving South Africa, Japan, Samoa and the USA on the opening weekend of the 2015 Rugby World Cup in September.
