Dale Stephens admits Albion are riding on a wave of confidence as they look to put relegation worries behind them once and for all.
Tuesday’s excellent 2-0 win at home to leaders Derby moved the Seagulls nine points clear of the Championship drop zone with 11 games to play.
It was a third successive home success for Chris Hughton’s side and fourth in their last five league matches at the Amex.
Victory also stretched the revival to just one defeat in the last six matches, which was an undeserved 1-0 defeat at Bolton last Saturday.
Midfielder Stephens set the ball rolling against Derby with his first goal since returning last month after nine months out with an ankle injury.
He told The Argus: “The mood in the group has always been a confident one but when you win games it breeds confidence.

“We have to be confident at home. We believe we are a match for anyone here and we have got to take that into the remaining games.”Stephens, who has been confined to six substitute appearances since his return to action, would like to add to his goal tally before the end of the campaign but insists there are more important issues to focus on.
He added: “I would like to chip in with a few more. Obviously, the more goals everybody scores the higher in the table we will go.
“It is more about the team and the team performance. If we get that, then it will be nice to see us move up the table.”
