Excellent performance, didn't allow Derby to relax and kept them on their toes all game.

His play to set up Lua Lua was a joy to watch!

Should start every game his hold up play is brilliant and turned out a good signing after all

Not the striker we need (in terms of goalscoring) but excellent hold up play and flick ons tonight. For me his best position would be in behind a striker like Baldock as he won almost every header tonight but more often than not no one was challenging the Derby defence. Did a great job of giving our defence some restbite who were under siege at the start of the 2nd half.

His first touch is superb and he certainly isn't short of a bit of pace. Fantastic game for him. Stockdale would still have been my MoM though.

Agree he would be good in a 442 with a fast player running off him. Ward not CMS

Just got back and was going to post this thread!

In the first half he looked like the only player even half-interested.
Second half he was again, excellent.

Great (and vital) defending on a couple of occasions as well.

Thought he was the best player out there, the ball stuck to him when played to feet and he won most of the battles in the air. The play to release LuaLua was brilliant

He seemed to have to perform both a holding and a target man role. We'd see him scoring in a 4-4-2.

Horses for courses.

In Hughton I trust.
CH will play the team he feels will beat Reading, after the last 6 games not even NSC can argue with that.

Hughton seemed a little critical of him in his post match interview. Said he needed to hold the ball up better which amazed me

An excellent muscleman performance. No goals, again, but his touch was good when we had any chance of getting it to him, and he worked his nuts off against an intensely good and hardman side.

I'm chuffed to bits for the COG at the moment.

However, he is only the temporary answer to a better resolution.

The smack on the head must have affected his vision, O'Grady have a masterclass in holding the ball up

Excellent again from COG. If we're going to persist with one up top, then Chris is the man.

It's a shame he couldn't cap that performance with a goal.

I think that is where i am also. That said, he would be a good squad player in a team pushing for promo, used at the right times
