LFC Donut Crest

Superb reaction from the Lady who's father died at Hillsborough though.

Ms Hennessy said the club's symbolic crest was important, "not just to the families, but to the club as a whole".

"It's something very special and very meaningful," she said.

"I don't believe that it was done to cause offence. We are sitting here at the inquests every day, there are bigger things to be offended about.

"It was a silly mistake, an embarrassing mistake, and it just needs to be left there really."

Because we wouldn't be upset if KFC used our badge with a chicken instead of a seagull

Exactly what I was about to say !

I have to agree with chinman, arent scousers known for having a good sense of humour? Obviously not!

Of course, a sense of humour is essential when 96 people died. Idiot.

I really worry about the way this country is going where we are almost searching daily for the tiniest thing to start a tidal wave of faux outrage.

It's a throwaway ad from a donut company which clearly has no intent to offend. If Liverpool replaced the flames on their badge with coffee cups then fair enough but this is just another one of those things I increasingly wonder why anyone would waste the time and energy getting worked up about

The Hillsborough flames form part of a crest, which is sold as a global brand for millions of pounds.

Is that disrespectful to the 96 and their families?

Maybe they should have asked Liverpool first, rather than assuming they could use the symbols for their donuts.

In a pile of football shirts
a bit of fun, done with no malice whatsoever, by a firm who pay millions of pounds to LFC in sponsorship, I think it is a bit of a non story, and certainly not one that anyone should get upset about, and I mean upset, not just sounding off to the media or on social networks. DD have apologised, and withdrawn the image, what more should anyone need to do?

Spread it around the internet so everyone can mock the scousers.
