Brighton & Hove Albion's under 18s fell to a narrow 4-3 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
West Brom were able to take full advantage of a slow start from their hosts, as they stormed into a 3-0 lead within 25 minutes after goals from Tahvon Campbell, Andre Wright and Joshua Ezewele.
Albion did find themselves a goal in the first half as well though, when Jack Rowe-Hurst leapt highest to steer in a header from an inswinging free-kick, just after the half hour mark.
But the Baggies rounded off a first period which they dominated by notching their fourth, as Campbell completed his brace with a cool finish three minutes before half time.*

LATEST NEWS FROM SEAGULLS.CO.UK

Similar to last week against Chelsea, the Seagulls produced a much better second 45 minutes, which got off to the perfect start as Rowe-Hurst turned provider when he fizzed in a low cross for Connor Tighe, who found the top corner of the net with an exquisite finish.Tighe’s second-half performance was one of the main positives for Simon Rusk’s side, as the winger battled intensely down the right flank to try and claw Albion* back onto level terms.
They got even closer to doing so in the 52nd minute, as James Tilley was tripped inside the box, allowing Tighe to double his tally for the match with a precise penalty kick.
Albion continued to create chances, with Tilley himself first going close after connecting with Maguire-Drew’s corner before embarking on a solo run and firing a low shot narrowly wide.
Despite their efforts, the Seagulls suffered a narrow defeat.
ALBION: Vose (GK); Courtney (Mar-Larusson 45), White, Barnett, Cox; Hutchinson, Collar, Tighe; Maguire-Drew (Cadman 88); Rowe-Hurst (Meyers 75), Tilley.
