An Islamic school is "undermining British values" and "limits girls to knitting and sewing" in technology classes, Ofsted inspectors say.

Rabia Girls and Boys School in Luton had "not met" standards needed for an independent school, the watchdog said.

Ofsted said the school practised "unequal treatment of girls and boys" and teaching quality was "inadequate".

The school said it was focused on "making the improvements needed to raise standards".

Proof we can't have Islamic schools since they are sexist and against our values, says alot about muslims!

Proof?

You haven't even posted the source of these quotes.

Are you serious, were you expecting a fully inclusive experience for those Muslim pupils, really ??

You will get the usual suspects pulling out a few ofsted reports of predominately white school's, but come on .........................

Two easy answers. No faith schools of any description and no independent schools, ie all schools revert to local government management. However, both Labour and the Conservatives seem to think that faith schools and independent schools will improve the quality of education.

Oh, and the OP's concerns about sexism are touching when he recently opined about the value of putting paper bags over woman's faces.....

The paper bag over a womans face was tounge in cheek

But yes I do agree that there should be no faith schools to reduce segregation of religous people

How about the BBC news.......

Great, next time post the link if you're quoting another website. A lot of people like to see the source for these sorts of things.

I'm serious I have no idea where all that came from? I just asked where's the source.

Again, people will instantly choose to use this to demonise Islam, rather than consider that this is obviously an extremely poor example of an Islamic school that should be shut down.

There are great examples of Islamic schools too, such as this one which has 100% GCSE pass rate for both boys and girls.

Keep your views balanced people - it is vital that we support the moderate Muslim communities in assimilating and remaining part of our society, rather than isolating or ostracising them.

Yeah you're right - it's all down to us to make more of an effort.

Islam is just another daft religion and faith schools should be consigned to the dustbin

is that balanced enough?
