Australia to take part in Eurovision 2015

Yes, this is 100% not a joke, Australia have been invited to take part in the 60th anniversary Eurovision show this year, despite not actually being in Europe.

If they win, they will stay in the contest for future years too....

This is because they're in the EBU. Australia is not. Therefore they shouldn't be allowed.

According to the article, they are an 'associate member' of the EBU.

It is supposed to a one off but before you know it the US and Canada will all want to take part. They are making a nonsense of it all. The EBU have been paid handsomely by the Australian TV company. A very sad state of affairs that all rules go out the window as soon as someone throws money at them. Like most large organisations. No morals.

No, they will create their own version with just USA and Canadian entries which they can GUARANTEE they'll win every time, they'll call it the WORLDVISION Song Contest or something.
