Iphone help please

I have an Iphone 5, using the email facility all my emails have been archived into the 'all mail' folder.
Now I have changed it via settings to delete not archive.
How do I delete the 'all folder' Archive?
I have deleted and reinstalled,
I have spent ages on the internet but whatever I do the 6500 emails still reappear.

Any Ideas?

Not syncing back via iCloud is it?

Its Gmail.

I think I have sorted it now, bit of a senior moment....they are of course held on the gmail server and not on the phone..
