Ben White’s second-half header proved to be only a consolation, as Brighton & Hove Albion’s under 18s fell to a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at their Cobham training ground.
The Blues’ victory means they reversed the score-line in October last year, when the Seagulls defeated the Londoners in October.
James Tilley had an early opportunity for Albion when his crashing strike was pushed onto the post by Chelsea keeper, Brad Collins.
But the hosts took the lead midway through the first half, when Hubert Adamczyk’s effort from outside the box squirmed past Bailey Vose.
Chelsea came close to doubling their advantage when Kyle Scott hit the crossbar with a long-range effort, before Issac Christie-Davies scored the Londoners' second goal in the 35th minute with a strike from distance.

Albion responded with a strong second-half performance, aided by a double substitution by under-18 coach, Simon Rusk.In the 56th minute, Ben White netted a deserved goal for Albion after glancing in a header from an inswinging free kick.
Rusk's side pressed for an equaliser and looked good value to take a share of the spoils, but were unable to breach the Chelsea goal for a second time despite attempts from Connor Tighe and Josh Courtney.
The latter’s left-footed attempt late in the game was agonisingly held by Brad Collins, to protect a victory for the league leaders.
ALBION: Vose; Courtney, Horncastle, White, Cox (Barnett 45); Hutchinson, Meyers (Mar-Larusson 68); Pring (Rowe-Hurst 45), Maguire-Drew, Tighe; Tilley. Subs not Used: Cadman.
