I'm currently mulling over buying a new pair. Surely it's New Balance these days?

Reebok Classics.

Anybody know any shops that still sell them? Sports Direct used but seemed to have ditched Reebok products.

I always have worn Adidas Kick when a juvenile, now I wear Converse

Other way round for me. Converse when I left school, Adidas for the last 10 years or so. Currently got a box fresh new pair of blue Gazelles on that probably come second only to the Olympic Blue Munchen I got just before the London Olympics as all time favourites.

I once owned some Airwalk but I was misguided.

I was considering this the other day: just what has happened to Reebok?

I was never much of a fan when I was younger, c25 years ago, but they were on a par with Nike and ahead of Adidas and Puma. They seem to have all but vanished.

(I've just researched and they are now a subsidiary of Adidas. I wonder if the latter bought them to just quietly let the brand fade and allow them to compete with Nike themselves)

Have drifted between the following brands:

Vans
Onitsuka
Adidas originals

But appear to have recently settled for Geox - incredibly comfy and good value when bought in the sales.

I'd find it hard to nominate a single pair.

I've undoubtedly spent most of the past 20 years in Adidas classics of some sort or another, with shell toes featuring heavily. For a court shoe, it still has to be Adidas. For a retro-runner, I'm with Herr Tubthumper - the NB 574s take some beating. They're next on my list.

The 574s come in a ridiculous number of colour combinations. Did your missus go for the burgundy ones per chance? They're a good look on a lady.
