I'm a total novice with this sort of thing but unfortunately I am having to use InDesign for some uni work. Was wondering if anyone familiar with the program could answer this for me: Is it possible to start a document on a PC, send it to a mac and then view/edit it on the mac? I googled it but got conflicting answers and a lot of jargon that I didn't understand. Much appreciated if anyone could help.

Cheers

I regularly use Adobe CS software on both PC and Mac, and they are compatible, so long as you are using the same version. If not, then when you save the file, save it in the version of the oldest s/w you have.

I'm 99% sure you can. Certainly if they're the same version or from old to new.

Also bear in mind that files used within the file need to be transferred too. Eg pictures.

Yup. They are compatible, but the fonts are not.

Not had a problem myself, but then we do have an extensive font library at work, generally when we're working on a project we have fonts in OTF which I install on both Mac and PC.
