I was right next to it in WSL today and that was a clear penalty. His arm away from his body and blocked the cross with it!

Well the ball hit his arm so yes.
Having seen the replay his hands were not by his side but out, and its one of those 'I've seen them given'.
However, I'd have been pretty p!ssed off if it had been given against us.

Didn't think it mattered. I'm pretty sure the rules state hand "interferes" with play which it did. Not this "ball to hand" "unintentional" stuff.
At least that's what it should be anyway.

Definite pen. Calderon puts his hands behind his back when defending crosses to avoid those decisions. Really disappointing
I wasn't sure it hit his arm - but if it did, it should have been a penalty. I could see from ESU that he didn't have time to get out of the way, but that wasn't relevant, as him arm shouldn't have been out to the side. That's why defenders often hold their arms behind their backs.
